Villa Amaru, one of Bali’s iconic private luxury villas, perches on the famous Sayan Ridge near Ubud, offering gorgeous views over the Sayan Valley. With four air-conditioned bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms, Villa Amaru provides a peaceful, enchanting and authentic environment for your vacation. The villa boasts breathtaking panoramic views of Bali’s volcano range and terraced rice fields. Additionally, it features a private infinity swimming pool, an air-conditioned living room pavilion, a yoga room, a billiards room, an air-conditioned study room and a full staff team, including your private chef.
The architectural design of Ubud’s Villa Amaru (formerly know as Villa Kirana) is one of a kind. Renowned, late architect Made Wijaya says that the design is inspired by Arne Hasselquist’s “David Bowie House” in Mustique, on which he collaborated with Linda Garland.
There are three air-conditioned double bedrooms and one air-conditoned twin bedroom at Villa Amaru. Each bedroom is a serene, peaceful hideaway with lots of natural wood and antique materials. Eclectic colourful modern, style paintings and artwork uplift each rooms natural beauty. Whether you want to lounge in the beautiful garden under the palm trees or sit in the cozy centred air-condtioned living room pavilion overlooking the pool and views, Villa Amaru has it all.
The bedrooms have incorporated elements of the Malay house, the Balinese Balé, and the Baronial guesthouses of Dutch colonial hill stations, extending into tropical gardens and ponds with sweeping vistas of the Ayung valley. There is a billiards room near the top entrance and an air-conditioned study room with bathroom next to the pool that can be converted into a smaller bedroom with the 3/4 antique Javanese daybed 160 x 200 cm. The living room pavilion, overlooking the pool and tropical valley, can be air-conditioned or opened up with large glass sliding doors. It offers a seating area and a TV lounge area.
The Villa is a pleasant journey through a beautiful garden and magnificent vistas, a mystical walk through a detached palace. The bases of the stilt houses near the swimming pool were carved by Ubud-born artist Wayan Cemul, and the German born sculptor Pintor Sirait designed and built the grand porte-cochere and suspended sculptural staircase. Villa Amaru has a gorgeous infinity natural form private swimming pool overlooking the green valley. Enjoy the day with a swim and soak up the tropical sun while admiring the clear night sky or reading a book.
An interesting assortment of Indonesian ethnic art, both built-in as doors and windows or as artwork embellishments. All of these come from the Indonesian archipelago’s islands of Sumba, Nias, Kalimantan, and North Sumatra. Moreover, soft furnishing in the villas use high-quality natural ikat textiles.
Every morning, the villa staff performs a Balinese ritual around the property and provide you with the finest hospitality. Here you can eat delicious dishes prepared by your private cook. Above all, the full time villa staff will provide excellent Balinese hospitality and assist you. Furthermore, they will be present at the villa to ensure that you have a pleasant stay.Every aspect of Villa Amaru is designed to ensure you have a memorable and pampered stay in one of Ubud’s most luxury villas.

MYSTICAL VIEWS
"
Villa Kirana ruined our stay in Ubud! We came to Ubud with grand plans of exploring discovering and learning about the areas cultural and spiritual heritage, however the unique beauty of Villa Kirana, the mystical views, and the incredibly kind and attentive staff members. All of our group found it difficult to leave the Villa on our daily excursion, and each time we left we could not want ti drive back and walk through the gates. Our eyes became addicted to that view, and finally be aware of Oka we ended up leaving with 10 kg of excess. luggage around our waist.

WITHOUT A DOUBT VILLA KIRANA WAS THE NICEST PLACE WE HAVE EVER STAYED IN IN OUR LIVES!
"
Not only was the physical set up so beautiful - it was very well maintained, and everything was of a very high standard. However, its the people that make the place. Right from dealing with you via email (always makes me a bit nervous) - your prompt and thorough responses were fabulous and gave me a high degree of comfort. Chef Oka was just so wonderful - the breakfasts were fabulous and the dinners he made for us were so wonderful. The food was fantastic! Everything we needed or even wanted, we got! We loved the manager (I feel badly, I can't remember her name) - she was so friendly and accommodating, as well as gracious. We loved Wayan as the driver - he showed us a wonderful time and was very good to us -- driving us to places he thought we would like -- and doing so in a such a friendly and professional manner. We also really appreciated his great restaurant suggestions in Ubud. We loved the place! My only comment would be for you to take new photos for your website! They really don't do the villa justice! It is so beautiful and in such a wonderful part of the world.

THIS HOME IS A MUST PLACE TO VISIT...
"
Our stay here has been one of the most enjoyable of all of our travels, the staff have been absolutely delightful and efficient, and chef Oka's meals are worthy of finest restaurants. Our boys were totally delighted with the pool and spent time investigating the lush yard. This home is a must do place to revisit if at all possible in the future.
